DEAR GOOGLE
In a change up tonight, an admission counselor sends an anonymous criticism to Google.
Dear Google,
If, for example an admissions counselor was to schedule her visits in google calendar, thinking that it’s an easy way to plan for the fall (put visits in different colors for called, tentative, confirmed), that counselor would easily be able to look at her calendar on her phone while on the road traveling. Of course she doesnt look at her phone while driving- that’s dangerous. But it’s a lot more convenient than pen and paper or excel sheets.
HOWEVER google thinks they’re so helpful by switching time zones for you. So in case you call a school and confirm a visit for 10:30 am on the east coast, but you put this in your calendar for 10:30am from your desk in a central standard time zone, when you get to the east coast, google will have so nicely changed all your times so that they say 11:30. Because it’s still 10:30 CST. And then you’re an hour late for a day of five visits- even though you definitely thought it was weird that a lunch visit started at 12:40. Thanks, google.
