Why? and how? Why and how can our universities legitimately ask overworked and underpaid individuals such as ourselves to work on LABOR DAY? Let’s review this fantastical (apparently optional!) holiday known as Labor Day -
This holiday, which became a federal holiday in 1864, was to HONOR the economic and social contributions of its workers.
…so, why were we at work today? Oh, because educating tomorrow’s youth obviously does not make a social and economic contribution to our society. Education schmeducation. Psssh.
